Hi, This is just feedback back to the Aperture community. I updated my MacBook Air (2014) to the latest macOS 10.13, all seems good with Aperture. Adjustments look fine, loupe, importing, exporting. If I come across any issues, I'll post back. I do have a Mac Pro (2010 SSD w/ Apple RAID) to update. That'll wait until the WACOM drivers are released end of Oct. I'm still waiting on a good alternative to Aperture. I have Lightroom 5.7.1 left unused on my 5 year old Macbook pro. It opens in High Sierra. I have kept it as a fall back if I abandon LR CC but not. Currently the ACD See app (although well spec'd for Windows) has very good potential. Currently there is a beta for Mac users. I will still check in on Capture One / Lightroom (?7) on occasion. ATM Aperture is still working (for now) ?. Hi John, Although my current EOS cameras / RAW will decode under the current Aperture, the new EOS cameras are not decoded. Bear in mind, if you are going to update your camera (RAW) soon. I'm sure you have annotated, sorted and curated your images like me over the years. I have used Aperture from the beginning. I am now importing new files (and exporting old files) as referenced, placing them into folders by year and event, so hopefully the next DAM software can pick up. Free osx themese for freebsd. I know I will have to move my images to a safer 'boat'. I still remain disappointed at Apple for discontinuing Aperture. For the past four years, I have used Lightroom 5 for all of my photo editing and cataloging requirements. 99% of my photo editing is with Pentax DNG's and completed in Lightroom's develop module. After a fatal crash, I called Adobe for support as I had exhausted every possible avenue. To my surprise I was told they no longer offered any support for LR5 and I would have to move to LR CC. Totally taken by surprise.I got very mad and am starting to look for alternatives. My first choice was Apple. Every time I have ever called for support on my aging MacBook Pro 2010 typically software related stuff they have spent oodles of time working with me to resolve my issues. Their support is always first class. Adobe well all I can say is that I don't even care to support their third class service nor am I willing to spend any more money with their LR CC product. Furthermore I'm also told that they provide very limited support and for the first 90 days go figure. My question to you more experienced folks is as follows given High Sierra OSX which apparently has given Photo's a new lease on life from what I have read thus far. 1) Can Photos replace LR5 for my basic needs to edit my photos which I current use in the Develop Module of LR5 and manage my photos catalogue in a similar manner? 2) Every thing I have read about Apple's Photos suggests that one should not used a referenced setup but should use a managed setup. My concern with the latter setup is I may loose all my RAW photos should I ever decide in the future to use alternative software.
